The Puffco Peak Pro 3DXL chamber is deeper than the original Peak Pro chambers, and standard-length joystick caps do not extend far enough inside to direct airflow effectively at the heated surface. Empire Glassworks designed this cap with a 26.5mm stem specifically to reach the optimal depth inside the 3DXL chamber. Using a standard-length cap on a 3DXL chamber results in weaker airflow direction and less efficient vaporization compared to the extended-stem version. Caps designed for the standard or 3D chamber are not interchangeable with this 3DXL version.

The Empire Glassworks Peak Pro 3DXL Joystick Cap features a stem length of approximately 26.5mm with a tolerance of plus or minus 0.5mm due to the handblown nature of each piece. This extended length is the key differentiator between this cap and the shorter New Peak and Proxy joystick cap. The additional length allows the cap to deliver airflow directly to the floor of the 3DXL chamber, where heat is concentrated, ensuring that concentrate pooled at the base is exposed to directed airflow for complete vaporization.

This cap is engineered specifically for Puffco Peak Pro devices with the 3DXL chamber. The 26.5mm extended stem is longer than what standard or original 3D chambers are designed to accommodate. Attempting to use this cap with a non-3DXL chamber could result in the stem contacting the heating element, which should be avoided. Puffco Peak Pro devices currently shipping from retailers are typically equipped with the 3DXL chamber as the standard, but users with older devices should verify their chamber version before purchasing.

Standard ball carb caps restrict airflow uniformly from all directions. A joystick directional cap channels airflow from a specific angled entry point, allowing the user to control where the airflow stream hits inside the chamber by rotating or tilting the joystick handle. This directed stream pushes concentrate toward hotter areas of the chamber and promotes even vaporization of the full load. When terp pearls are present, the angled airflow spins them continuously, distributing heat further across the material for more complete extraction.

After each session, remove the cap from the tether while the device is still warm and wipe the interior of the stem and cap base with a cotton swab lightly coated in isopropyl alcohol. This removes fresh oil residue before it can harden. For a deeper clean, soak the cap in isopropyl alcohol for 15 to 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water and allow to dry completely before the next use. Avoid applying mechanical force to the stem during cleaning, as the extended length can make the stem more vulnerable to breakage if levered.
