RAW Papers partnered with Hammercraft, a precision aluminum grinder manufacturer, to produce a co-branded grinder line that pairs quality CNC-machined grinding hardware with RAW’s rolling culture brand. RAW is best known for their unbleached, natural rolling papers made from hemp fibers, as well as their cone, tip, tray, and accessory lineup. The Hammercraft grinder partnership allows RAW to offer a physical grinding accessory that coordinates visually and functionally with their rolling products. Hammercraft manufactures the grinders to their quality standard using aircraft-grade aluminum and CNC machining, with the RAW branding applied through the collaboration.

The neodymium magnet in the lid of the Hammercraft x RAW grinder provides a much stronger magnetic closure than the standard ferrite magnets used in most budget and mid-range aluminum grinders. Neodymium is the strongest commercially available permanent magnet material, and its use in a grinder lid means the closure snaps shut with a satisfying force and stays securely closed during normal transport in a pocket or bag, even when the grinder is loaded with herb. The stronger closure also means the lid is less likely to pop open accidentally if the grinder is jostled or dropped. The same strong neodymium magnets are used in premium grinders like the Santa Cruz Shredder.

The poly friction ring sits around the upper grinding section of the Hammercraft x RAW grinder at the contact interface between the lid and the grinding chamber. This thin ring of polymer material creates a smooth, low-friction bearing surface that allows the lid to rotate quietly and easily during grinding. Without this ring, the aluminum-on-aluminum contact between the two sections can create a scraping or grinding noise and require more force to rotate, particularly as resin builds up on the contact surfaces over time. The poly ring maintains smooth operation and reduces wear on the contact surfaces.
