Mighty Plus comes in a nice packaging that feels and looks good. It has a sealing sticker at the top, ensuring its brand new. The device comes with 6 screens (3 small normal screens and 3 small coarse screens), 3 O-rings for sealing, one dosing capsule/quick fill chamber, a cleaning brush and a USBC charger. It also has a warranty card, a quick start manual–showing how to start it up in seven easy steps and a bigger user manual at the bottom of the box.
Herb Vaping with Mighty Plus – Convection vs Combustion
Herb vaping is much beneficial for people who still enjoy smoking but are realizing some of the adverse effects of smoking. When you are using combustion it releases certain toxins that really can cause some inflammation. Think of herb vaping similar to baking in an oven versus using a grill to cook. In grilling you are using flame/fire similar to combustion. Mighty Plus primarily uses convection heating and heats more with hot air. It’s heating the device up to a certain temperature. And baking the bud inside the chamber to give you the vapor for inhalation. Herb vaping does have a little bit of growing period, it does take some time to figure out how to best use it for your herbs. Best Option for New Users
People coming from smoking background might take some time to get used to herb vaping. The reason is that they like to see a cloud of smoke. Hitting herb with vapor might not always produce that dense smoke but it could be enhanced with suitable temperature settings that this device offers. Portability of Mighty+
The Mighty Plus Vaporizer is a full size device among portables. It’s around 5.5 inches tall, 1.5 inches deep at its widest point and it’s about 3.5 inches across. It weighs 242g. In terms of portability, it’s an easy one to carry if you are putting it in a large jacket pocket or in a bag or something like that but this definitely isn’t an extremely portable device.
Build Quality
For a really expensive device, this one is made entirely out of plastic. Whole body, the cooling unit, the mouthpiece and all that stuff, it’s all made from plastic. Usually at this price you think of metal or some high-end wood but this is a completely plastic built device. The nice thing about it is that it doesn’t feel cheap as they have used really high-end material to achieve superior build quality.
Using the Mighty Plus – Loading the Chamber
In reality, one of the best things about this device is that it’s super easy to use. To explain, twist the top cooling unit off to expose the ceramic coated loading chamber. You can simply load flour into the bowl directly or you can use dosing capsule. It is recommended to use evenly ground material and not to pack it to the top. Dosing capsules just keep things really clean and easy, you can pre-load few of them in advance to avoid trouble of reloading all the time. After loading put your cooling unit back on. The mouthpiece rotates out to the side. One cool feature about this device is that you can put the cooling unit either way allowing you to set the direction of the mouthpiece.
Turning the Device On and Temperature Settings
Do not turn the device on while loading. Load the chamber and put the lid (cooling unit) back on. Push the power button on the side of the device to turn it on and engage the heating. It will go to the temperature that you have set. The device will vibrate indicating that it is ready to use. Select your desired temperature by pressing or holding the up and down buttons. If you want to go between Celsius and Fahrenheit, just hold them both at the same time and it will switch between these two units. The screen displays temperature and your battery level. One fully loaded chamber can give you up to 5 – 6 inhalations. When the smoke starts to appear thinner you can raise the temperature to heat the leftover bud in order to get the maximum extracts out of it.
Powerful Battery and Fast Charging
The new Mighty Plus Vaporizer has USB-C charging rather than having an exclusive cable. It is a nice upgrade as USB-C cables could be easily found these days. This device can be charged anywhere including on the go if you have a battery pack. This upgrade also allows you to fast charge at 45 Watts. Hence, you can get 80% charge on the device in only 40 minutes. However, you do need a high output charger to hit those charge times. The USBC and the faster charging really improve the battery situation. This device has two powerful internal batteries of 3300 mAh. Battery charge is dependent on your temperature settings and vaping style. Using it at varied temperatures and varied session lengths, it can give you around 16 sessions before needing a recharge.
Fast Heat Up in Just 60 secs
The heat up time is one of the features that’s been noticeably improved. Obviously it’s going to vary depending on surroundings temperature and what temperature you are using the device at. The new Mighty Plus heats up in about a minute. It’s not super-fast when you compare it to some other devices but it really doesn’t feel slow. The device double vibrates to let you know that it has reached your temperature and is ready to go throwing out high quality extraction.
Upgraded Ceramic Coated Loading Chamber
Storz and Bickel have also upgraded the loading chamber on this one. It is similar to the 2021 Crafty Plus and the new Volcano Hybrid update. Mighty+ vaporizer has a ceramic lined filling chamber. It helps to reduce the scratching that would take place in the steel chamber over time, especially if you are using dosing capsules a lot. Overall ceramic is known to be an extremely pure tasting material that contributes towards preserving taste and extraction quality.
New Stirring Tool – Kickstand for Mighty Plus
They have improved the bottom fins of the device to help it stand better. Additionally, at the bottom, it has a stirring tool that fits nicely in the device. The tool slides right out. It works as a kickstand allowing your device to stand on a flat surface. Just take the tool out, turn it around, push back and that’s going to help the device stand up by itself.
Working Scheme
The working scheme of this device is based on a patented heating technology that uses convection and conduction rather than combustion. During inhalation, the air heats up due to convection while passing through the spiral heater. Meanwhile the filling chamber heats up due to the conduction principle. As soon as hot air flows through the herbs, active ingredients are vaporized and released into the specially designed cooling unit where it cools down before it is inhaled.
Proper Extraction – Comparing Mighty+ with Crafty+ and The Volcano
Basically different temperatures activate different extracts and there are devices that work just on a static temperature such as Crafty Plus, so getting the desired benefits becomes hard sometimes. But this device allows you to fine tune your temperature to get proper extracts from your favorite herb. This device is very similar to the Volcano in terms of temperature settings but that’s a desktop vaporizer while Mighty Plus is a portable one.
Performs beautifully at home but the size makes it a non-starter as a carry vape for me.
I bought my Mighty+ after months of comparing it against everything else and it has lived up to every review. The convection heating pulls clean, flavorful vapor and the dual batteries mean I get a genuine 90 minutes of run time. The LC display is bright and the 1 degree temperature steps let me fine tune to the strain. Yes it is large and the plastic shell is plain, but the performance is simply better than the smaller vapes I tried. The 3 year warranty after registration seals it as a long-term keeper.
Hits like a truck consistently and the build feels like it could survive a drop or two.
Vapor and battery are excellent, but the 2 minute auto-off shutting down mid-session gets old fast.
