How to Vape Dry Herbs – The Beginner’s Guide

Are you new to the vaping world? Do you want to enjoy vaping with a dry herb vaporizer and don’t know where to start? Then, you have come to the right place. We will cover everything you need to learn as a beginner and the benefits of dry herb vaping. So let’s get straight into it.

What is a dry herb vape, and how does it work?

A dry herb vape is a heater that produces vapor from the dry herbs (dried plant material). The user puts the material in the chamber or oven that starts to burn it after temperature settings are selected. Vaporizers heat the material and discharge the active ingredients as vapors rather than combusting material like cigarettes and producing smoke!

Benefits of Dry Herb Vapes

Discretion

Plenty of vapes will spark a lot of curiosity in the vape enthusiast. The additional feature that makes them more desirable is the ability of dry herb vapes to work great in discretion. Also, the vapor produced from the vaporizer is light and doesn’t stick for a long time. However, smoke brings a stinky stench wherever you go and stays for a while.

Amazing Taste

The smoke usually comes with an awful smell and doesn’t taste amazing. It is also harsh on the throats and lungs. On the other hand, vaporizers deliver vapors more gently with a unique herbal flavor that people are usually unaware of before trying dry herbs. Also, It is one of the best ways to experience everything a herb can offer.

Portability

Many dry herb vaporizers fit perfectly in the purse, small bag, or pocket. It allows the user to take the vape on the move and enjoy sessions wherever they go. Moreover, the portable dry herb vapes allow users to take a few hits whenever it is convenient for them instead of waiting for herbs to burn out.

Efficiency

Smoking products do combustion that destroys the herbal compound a person wants to inhale. As a result, they turn the herbal compound into harmful byproducts that no one wants in their lungs. On the other hand, vaporizers don’t destroy the compounds but release them to provide a well-rounded experience. Overall, vaporizers squeeze every bit of the dry herb and don’t leave any taste behind. Also, most people have reported reduced use after switching from smoking, making it a win-win situation.

Types of Dry Herb Vaporizers

Portable Vaporizer

Portable vaporizers are famous for their compact designs that can fit into pockets or small bags. They are considered one of the best options for on-the-go users. These vapes use the internal battery and provide rich, satisfying vapors. Check out the list of portable vaporizers for yourself.

Desktop Vaporizers

The desktop vaporizers come with a larger footprint and offer powerful sessions. They are plugged directly into a power outlet, meaning they can only be used at home. Also, these are famous among the heavy hitters for their large ovens, high power, and ability to serve large groups of people. They cost arm and leg but are usually built for long use.

Types of Heater

Conduction Vaporizers

Conduction vaporizers have mini ovens and heat the herbs with direct contact with them throughout the session. They are easy to use, energy-efficient, consistent, and definitely less expensive than other heaters. Also, they are an amazing choice for someone who prefers small clouds over thick and larger clouds. However, they cook the herbs between the hits and lose their taste quicker. Moreover, they are less efficient than other options.

Convection Vaporizers

Convection vaporizers make sure to separate the heat source from the oven or chamber but instead heat the air and herbs when the user inhales. They are more efficient than conduction vaporizers and produce better vapors as well. Overall, they are a good option while you are on the go, but they are more expensive and eat up the battery quicker.

Hybrid Vaporizers

These are considered to be one of the best vaporizers as they preheat the herbs to a lower temperature. Then these vapes heat the incoming air at a higher temperature to finish it off while the person is hitting. They are consistent, easy to use, and fully extract herbs’ essence in less time, making them very popular among people.

How to vape dry herbs

Step – Grind the herbs.

Many dry herb vaporizers can vaporize the whole flower but grinding it brings out the best taste. Different types of grind work with another kind of vaporizer i-e conduction vaporizers are better with a finer grind. On the other hand, convection vaporizers like coarser grind better. And if anyone is unsure, they can use a medium grind.

Step – Load the herbs into the vape.

The next step is putting the ground herbs into the oven. However, packing herbs into a conduction and convection vaporizer is slightly different. The user must pack the herbs tightly to the top for the conduction vaporizer. The convection and hybrid vaporizers are completely different. The user doesn’t need to pack the oven tightly but loosely to leave space for air to pass.

Step – Turn on the device.

For most devices, press the power button three times quickly to turn on the device. At the same time, others would be turned on with a long press of five-press.

Step – Set the temperature.

Most vaporizers have different settings for dry herbs, which usually include low-level, mid-level, and high-level settings. The low-level range produces the tastiest vapors and is perfect for chasing the flavor rather than clouds. Next are mid-level settings, which are noticeably thicker but still produce satisfying flavor. The last are high-level settings that produce thick clouds and the strongest flavor.

Step – Inhale the vapors

Once the vaporizer reaches the set temperature, inhale the vapors. Start slow, and you can pick your pace after 7-10 seconds.

Step – Turn off and Clean the device

When the session is finished, turn off the device and leave it for a while to let it cool down. If you are done with the session, take the cleansing brush to clean the device while it is still a little hot. This will saves a lot of time as it prevents the leftover from sticking to the device. Moreover, cleaning ensures the device runs a little longer before it needs a deep cleaning.
